Kristi Wood is the spring “Eagles Above and Beyond Award” at Valley View Independent School District.

Wood received the award on June 7 — the last day of classes for Valley View’s school year.

Valley View ISD Director of Instruction and Student Services  Monica Parkhill said Wood was nominated because
she is “an excellent ambassador for the Valley View School District.”

“Kristi truly loves VVISD and the students,” Parkhill said in a news release.  “She makes sure everyone knows what
a wonderful school we have and how awesome the kids are. Her enthusiasm for all things Valley View is contagious
and much appreciated in a time when public schools are so highly criticized.”

Wood teaches middle school and high school art and is the yearbook advisor.

Capturing fun, candid shots of staff and students is one of Wood’s specialities, Parkhill added.

“Valley View ISD is very fortunate to have such a talented, enthusiastic, easy-going, compassionate, spunky, and
genuinely good person on staff,” she said. “Kristi is a blessing to the school and community. She is truly deserving
of this honor!”
